Senior API Platform Engineer
Location: Amsterdam
We are seeking an experienced Senior API Platform Engineer to drive the development and optimization of our advanced API platform. You'll play a critical role in shaping our core technology infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence across our global operations. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies such as Kubernetes, Istio, AWS EKS.
You’ll collaborate with skilled engineers, enterprise architects, and internal teams to enhance platform capabilities, foster best practices, and ensure a superior developer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop features for a Kubernetes- and Istio-based multi-tenant API platform.
- Implement enterprise API strategies for design and development.
- Optimize platform performance, ensuring high availability and low latency with LGTM observability tools.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce API security strategies.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, including infrastructure tests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues.
- Work with architects and teams to improve best practices and automate API delivery solutions.
Your Profile:
- Senior level experience in API design and development in enterprise environments.
- Expertise in API integration patterns, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies.
- Well versed in EKS-based platform engineering with a proven track record in large-scale API platforms.
- Experience with production-grade service mesh (e.g., Istio).
- Strong knowledge of reusable, scalable, and self-service platform design.
- Experience meeting platform SLI/SLOs through development and observability practices.
- Skilled in test-driven infrastructure development and CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative, independent work style.
- Fluent in English with the ability to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
